Ginger cultivation is important in India. It is used as a spice and medicine. Its price always remains good and demand is also good. India is the largest producer of ginger. Ginger is cultivated in most of the states.

Suitable conditions for production:

• Occurs in areas with hot and humid climate.
• 20-30 degree Celsius, humidity 70-90 percent is required.
• Drained sandy loam soil is suitable.

Cultivation time:

• Farming can be done in the month of May-June.
• The field should be plowed properly.
• A bed should be made one meter wide and 30 cm high.

Sowing Methods:

• Planting is done by preparing a bed.
• Erms are made by making pits.
