ul>Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Varanasi on 23 February for a two-day visit. There PM Modi inaugurated Amul's biggest plant, Banas Dairy. This project will provide indirect employment to about 1 lakh people. Banas Dairy will double the income of farmers and cattle herders of Purvanchal. The cost of the project is Rs 622 crore and its foundation stone was laid on 23 December 2021. Products made from Banas Dairy include milk, sweets, ice cream, cheese, khoya, ghee. This project is likely to provide employment to 1 lakh people from about 1346 villages of Purvanchal. ► 750 people will get direct employment in the company's plant and 2,350 people will get employment in the field. ► The capacity of the plant includes liquid milk processing, pouch milk packing, butter, curd, lassi, ice cream, cheese, sweets.
