Notification of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for Kharif 2024 has been issued in Madhya Pradesh. Districts in the state have been divided into 11 clusters and the last date for insuring notified crops is July 31. Non-loanee farmers can voluntarily get insurance, which will be done through bank, public service center or insurance company. Loanee farmers will be insured through the respective banks. According to the notification, at the district level, urad, moong, jowar, kodo, kutki, groundnut, sesame and cotton are included in insurance unit-1, and paddy irrigated, paddy unirrigated, soybean, maize, millet and tur are included in insurance unit-2. A maximum of 2% of the insured amount is payable by the farmers for all cereals, pulses, oilseeds crops in Kharif season and a maximum of 5% premium is payable for cotton. For Kharif 2024, 4 companies selected in Madhya Pradesh have been allotted districts according to clusters, namely Agriculture Insurance Company, IFFCO Tokio General Insurance, SBI General and HDFC ERGO. According to the notification, out of 11 clusters, 37 districts allotted in 6 clusters have been given to Agriculture Insurance Company.
