Absence of potash in DAP increases incidence of insect-diseases and reduces cotton production. High quality production of cotton is possible with NPK compound fertilizers. It has been advised to use single super phosphate, urea and potash for cotton crop in Khargone district. At sowing time 12:32:16 there is no need to give potash apart from using proper quantity of NPK and urea. Applying other NPK fertilizers after sowing and after two months also benefits the crop. The use of NPK mixed fertilizers is also beneficial in other crops of the district such as maize, soybean, jowar, chilli. According to the soil test, zinc deficiency has been found in the soil of the district. Farmers have been advised to use 20-25 kg zinc sulphate per hectare every 3 years.
