The team from PAU's Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur visited the farms of Sangrur district under the guidelines of Director Extension Education. The team inspected paddy orchards in village Kular Khurd and Mahals. Removed the concerns of farmers related to high and low plants. Informed the farmers about the symptoms and remedies of micronutrient deficiency in rice paddy. Also inspected direct sowing paddy fields in village Khetla and Divangarh. Shared information about weed management and fertilizer management in direct sowing. Dr. Rukinder Preet Singh advised to apply 130 kg of urea in 3 installments. Advised the use of Nomine Gold, Rice Star, Elmix etc. medicines for weed management. Dr. Sunil Kumar asked to use the Lucky Seed Drill for seed sowing. Spraying of herbicides is also done with this technique. Farmers expressed satisfaction with direct sowing and encouraged to increase acreage under this technique.
