Farmer Panchanan Mahato of Durgapur village has set an example by growing vegetables through organic method. Panchanan is earning good income by cultivating cash crops and coarse grains organically on his three acres of land. Dung is collected in organic method, which results in better quality and better yield in the crop. Panchanan is sold in Madhukarpur and Petarwar market, and recently he has earned a profit of Rs 10,000 from radish and ladyfinger. Their monthly income goes up to Rs 50,000, and the polyhouse has been constructed under the Jharkhand State Watershed Mission. Farming through organic method can be a good option for the youth, who want to get good income and employment.
