  • The remains of these herbicides remain in the crop, which has adverse effects on humans, animals, birds, soil and microorganisms.
  • These chemicals remain in the soil and water for a long time, which can cause serious diseases.
  • The Deputy Director of Agriculture appealed to the farmers to use pesticides and weedicides only as per scientific recommendations.
  • Farmers have been advised to avoid the use of unnecessary pesticides and herbicides, especially glyphosate and paraquat.
