Satpura Plateau region

Preparation of sugarcane sowing:Prepare the land for sugarcane sowing in spring and irrigate as per requirement. Care of gram crop:If 50% or more pods have formed, then do second irrigation. Spray Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC (3.0 ml/liter water), Flubendiamide 20 WG (5g/liter water) or Indoxacarb 14.5 SC for control of pod borer.


Kaimur Plateau and Satpura Mountain region

Care of mustard crop: Irrigate mustard crop at 70-75 days stage. Spray 20 KG sulphur powder or Karathane 30 LC (Dinocap) 750ml per hectare for powdery mildew control. Mango Crop: Stop irrigation and apply grease strips on the stems and apply Folidal @ 250 g/plant in the soil for mealybug control. Ber Crop:Apply top dressing of nitrogen fertilizer for better fruit development.


Jhabua hilly area

Irrigation in wheat crop:

  • Apply fifth irrigation at 75-80 days stage.
  • Apply sixth irrigation at 90-95 days stage.
Termite Control:Use Chlorpyrifos 20 EC (3.5 lit/ha) mixed in irrigation water. Vegetable Crops: Spray Thiamethoxam (7.0 g/pump) to control sucking insects in chilli.


Nimar Valley Area

Termite Control in Wheat: Apply a mixture of 20 kg sand and Chlorpyrifos 20 EC (2.0 lit/acre) in the field in the evening. Mango Crop Protection:Spray Hexaconazole 5% EC (1 ml/liter of water) to prevent powdery mildew disease. Beekeeping for Pollination: Promote beekeeping as they are important for pollination in flowers and horticultural crops.


Central Narmada Valley Region

Caution in Chickpea Crop:Avoid any kind of spraying during flowering stage. Pest Control:

  • Install 5 pheromone traps per hectare.
  • Install bird perches in 50 hectares for birds.


Bundelkhand Region

Vegetable Crops:Transplant tomato, onion, brinjal, chilli and cabbage plants in the main field and do light irrigation. Stem Borer Control in Wheat: Spray Profenophos 40% (2.0 ml/liter of water).


Gird area

Termite control in wheat:Use Chloropyrifos 20 EC (3.5 lit/ha) mixed in irrigation water. Summer vegetables:

  • Prepare nursery and treat seeds with Carbendazim.
  • Treat the soil with Dhiram.
  • After sowing seeds, cover the nursery with paddy straw or white plastic sheet.
  • Remove the straw or plastic sheet after germination.
By adopting these measures, farmers can take better care of their crops and increase production.
