Rajasthan Agriculture Department has issued advisory on yellow rot disease for wheat farmers. In this disease, the color of the leaves fades and small yellow dots or blisters appear. Yellow to orange stripes appear between the veins on the leaves. In the field, this disease first spreads in the form of a circular area on 10-15 plants and later spreads to the entire field. Cold and humid weather (6-18°C temperature, rain, dew, fog) promotes this disease. Regularly inspect the crop in January-February and contact the expert if any symptoms are suspected. On confirmation of the disease, destroy the infected plants and spray fungicidal chemicals as per departmental recommendations. In case of pest-disease outbreak, plant protection chemicals will be made available to farmers on subsidy.
