Cold wave has started due to increasing cold across the country, due to which the night and morning temperature is going below 5 degrees Celsius. Cold is affecting humans as well as dairy animals, especially milk production. Due to cold, dairy animals fall ill quickly and reduce milk production. According to veterinarians, the following measures can be adopted to protect from cold wave: Keep animals in the sun to protect them from cold winds, if there is no sunlight then do not tie them in the open. Pack the animal shed properly, close the places from where there is a possibility of wind coming. Cover the animals with blankets or jute sacks in extreme cold, this provides warmth. Burning bonfire in the shed will increase the temperature and mosquitoes and insects will also stay away. Give more fodder and coarse grains to animals in winter, because their digestion process is faster in cold. Include mustard cake in the diet, which is rich in protein and provides energy.
