Coromandel International Limited has announced the launch of a state-of-the-art Nano fertilizer plant at its Kakinada Complex, Andhra Pradesh. Coromandel’s Kakinada unit produces a wide range of NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) grades with an annual capacity of 2 million metric tonnes of fertilizers. The new Nano plant uses energy efficient technologies and includes a fully automated production line, including a robotic arm for bottling operations. The plant has the capacity to produce 1 crore bottles of Nano fertilizer per year and can be scaled up to produce higher volumes. Coromandel has developed Nano fertilizers such as Nano DAP and Nano Urea through its in-house Research and Development Centre at IIT Bombay-Monash Research Academy. The nano fertilizers have been marketed under the brand names “Gromore Nano DAP” and “Gromore Nano Urea” which are eco-friendly and have received positive response across various regions and crop segments. Coromandel has conducted extensive field trials with farmers to confirm the efficacy of these nano fertilizers. Coromandel International has also set up a Nano Technology Centre in Coimbatore, which focuses on nano applications in agriculture and ensures the quality of its nano products.
