Prevention and treatment:

• Farmers should regularly check their fields to prevent root-knot nematodes.
• Make good drainage system in the fields so that the problem of root-knot nematodes can be reduced.
• To control root-knot nematodes, mix 2.5 ml of Chlorpyrifos 20% EC in one liter of water and apply it to the roots of the plants.
• While preparing the field, mix 10 kg of neem cake in the soil per acre.
• Adopt crop rotation and sow different crops so that the infestation of root-knot nematodes can be reduced.
• Use biological measures like Trichoderma and Bacillus bassiana in the fields, which are helpful in controlling root-knot nematodes
• Consult agricultural experts from time to time and take care of the crop as per their instructions.
• With these types of measures, farmers can save their crops from the attack of root-knot nematodes and get good yield.

Every year, paddy crops in Ballo, Punjab are attacked by root-knot nematodes, which damage the roots of the plants and destroy the plant. This year also farmers are facing the same problem. Root-knot nematodes enter the roots of the plants and consume the nutrients, due to which the plants become weak and die. The outbreak of root-knot nematodes is seen every year especially in the Ballo area. The attack of root-knot nematodes causes a huge reduction in crop yield, causing economic loss to farmers.
